ONCE WERE HIGH

Take me away like you used to
Leave the feeling behind
Numb the pain that hurts so bad
Hurry, the chill is setting in

I've forgotten how it feels
A warmth that doesn't burn
Charcoaled days behind us
Black as night when we leave
Stars piercing our arrival

Summer breezes that blow even when it's cold
Your blood,
My hands
Not as pure as they used to be
Reminding me I'm still breathing

You and me in a house built from dreams
But the door is missing
Last week has been stashed away
And we payed fifty dollars for a slice of tomorow.
